Our Goals
Bir Değersin Association Institutional Goals
Bir Değersin Association is a civil society organization that aims to carry out academic-based, rights-oriented and sustainable work in human rights, education, culture, art, youth work and social inclusion. Our association aims to produce social benefit in line with the principles of equality, freedom, democracy, rule of law, combating discrimination, intercultural dialogue, lifelong learning, digital transformation, environmental sustainability and active citizenship. In this context, Bir Değersin Association adopts the following institutional goals in alignment with EU values and Turkey's development objectives.
1. Strengthening Human Rights and Human Dignity
One of our fundamental goals is to spread respect for human dignity, protection of fundamental rights and freedoms, equality, justice and combating discrimination across different segments of society. We aim to develop trainings, awareness activities, academic research, field analyses and social impact-oriented projects. Empowering women, young people, children, disadvantaged individuals, people with disabilities, migrants and groups at risk of social exclusion through a rights-based approach is among our priorities.
2. Supporting Equal Opportunity in Education and Lifelong Learning
Our association does not limit education to formal education; it evaluates education as a fundamental right and tool for social transformation throughout life. Increasing access to education, cultural activities, digital skills and international learning opportunities for disadvantaged groups is one of our priority areas.
3. Promoting Inclusion, Diversity and Social Justice
Bir Değersin Association acts with the understanding that all individuals in society have equal value. We aim to carry out work that reduces social exclusion, makes differences visible, strengthens social harmony and increases participation of disadvantaged groups in decision-making processes.
4. Increasing Youth Democratic Participation and Active Citizenship
Our association sees young people not only as service recipients but as active agents of social change. We aim to develop trainings, workshops, forums and participatory activities that support young people's voice in human rights, environment, digital transformation, culture, art, gender equality, social justice and local development.
5. Strengthening Culture, Art and Intercultural Dialogue
Bir Değersin Association views culture and art as powerful tools for social inclusion, freedom of expression, creativity, preservation of cultural heritage and dialogue between societies.
6. Supporting Academic Research, Reporting and Knowledge Production
We aim to produce usable knowledge at both local and international levels by developing needs analyses, field research, training modules, policy recommendations, impact reports, good practice examples, methodology guides and academic content.
7. Supporting Digital Transformation, Media Literacy and Digital Rights
Bir Değersin Association aims to develop digital skills, increase media literacy, raise awareness about digital rights and use technology for social benefit.
8. Promoting Green Transition, Climate Awareness and Sustainable Living
Our association evaluates environmental sustainability not only as an ecological issue but as an area directly related to human rights, education, youth, culture and social responsibility.
9. Developing National and International Partnerships
Bir Değersin Association believes that social problems can be solved through multi-stakeholder approaches. We aim to develop partnerships with universities, academics, civil society organizations, public institutions, local governments and international organizations.
10. Increasing Project Development, Social Impact and Sustainability Capacity
Our association aims to holistically address needs analysis, target group identification, implementation plan, measurement-evaluation, dissemination and sustainability in every project. Creating a sustainable project culture in human rights, education, culture, art and youth is among our fundamental goals.
